Brooklands looks very similar to a Swiss Chalet nestled amoung pine trees with amazing views of the Drakensberg. It is one of the few berg cottages that actually borders the world heritage site and the short walk to the three pools is brilliant. We found the staff very friendly, the cottage clean and spacious and perfect for our group of 12 people. The kids loved the jacuzzi on the deck and paddling in their own plastic canoes on the dam. The water that comes out of the tap is the nicest water I have ever drunk. The water flows straight out of the mountain and is piped directly from the spring. We filled up all our empty 5L containers and took them home to enjoy our mountain spring water for weeks afterwards. For me the best things about Brooklands is the following. The space, the deck with the view, the outside bonfire area and the fireplace in side. I think for the kids, the jacuzzi, the pool table and the DSTV but it was great to see them enjoying the freedom of running around in a safe environment!
