Ovwor Olomu - Ovwor, The Land of Dances and Culture and Brave Men

Ovwor is a village near the Ughelli L.G.A. Thought not too big it is not small either. It's a place that has connection to the ancient practices of the urhoboeans/Urhobians (people who speak and have urhobo roots). They are know for their traditional dance known as "edjor". On this occasion, the urhobians of Ovwor would all gather at the market square and proceed with the masquerade dance. The "Ose Edjor" (juju priest or father of gods) would usually perform rituals that began or ended the Edjor dance. It is usually celebrated at Christmas or new year. It is celebrated annually.
