I brought my 2018 Corolla to Enzo Car Clinic at 401 Alness Rd in Toronto recently to have some fairly minor but noticeable cosmetic damage (vandalism), repaired. All issues were on driver side ie rear gas tank door and panel damages, key scratches above doors, shopping cart dent front corner bumper. . The owner Alex assured me that his shops' work was of the highest quality and promised to restore the affected areas to their virtual original condition. In our conversations prior I had specified that this was my utmost concern since I had taken meticulous care since purchasing the vehicle new in 2018 including having the entire exterior professionally ceramic coated in early 2019. The car also is only hand washed, never commercially carwashed. Except for the minor damages listed above the car was in otherwise virtual showroom condition inside and out. I picked up the car from Enzo Car Clinic a week later and was told not to wash it for at least one week. I waited a full two weeks and then did a fresh-water rinse (no soap) as the car did not require a soap wash due to the ceramic coating's ability at repelliing dirt, road spray etc. However, today I did a full hand wash and was shocked to discover just how poor quality Enzo Car Clinic's work was. Most notably, an almost total lack of crisp reflection compared to the pre-existing glossy factory finish - Enzo's finish looking almost matte by comparison. Being a new 2018 Corolla the car was likely factory painted on the assembly line sometime in late 2017. Now, five years later the pre-existing factory finish is by far superior in every respect to the hack job done by Enzo Car Clinic. Also, Enzo's paint pigment is off and the metallic sparkle different. On closer inspection there is, what the industry refers to as "orange peel" finish on the entire suface compared to the smooth glass-like finish on the factory surfaces. Worse, in some areas you can plainly see where they simply fine-sanded out the numerous paint imperfections (dust, bubbles etc) which I'd pointed out on the day before I picked up the car. I am absolutely appalled that I was duped by this crook. The entire job cost $$$1200 which I paid cash for. Today I took the car in to my ceramic tech to get a quote on having the newly painted panels re re-coated with ceramic. After inspecting the car the technician said that Enzo Car Clinic's work was laughable. He also suspected they used knock-off paint rather than genuine Toyota paint which I also specified. My advice? This is why that, unless you have a crap box car (like my first), that you must have repaired but are not concerned with the appearance, just want to save money or you smashed up your buddy's car but he's blind so he won't notice a crap paint job anyways (unless he runs his hand over it), then by all means take your undeserving beater to this butchery of a body shop (no disrespect to butchers). Otherwise, leave it to the experts.
