CORK LEAF Yoga Mat - Best environmentally friendly, ethical yoga mat on the Australian Market!!!

I've had my Cork Leaf yoga mat for just over 1 year now, and still just as in love with it as i was when i first bought it! The texture is better than any other mat i've praticed on. Feels grounded, soft, supple but durable and tough. Gives great stability and doesn't scrunch up under you as you change positions. It even smells natural as you get up close and personal with it, no more chemical plastic smells when you lie down. The company really does care a lot about doing the right thing for the environment as their number 1. As well as it's production team and of course it's customers. I really think they've developed a winner! They even plant native Australian trees for every mat sold - helping to give back what we take away. Their website is fantastic in detailing their efforts, and incredibly kind and helpful customer service. It is a heavy mat, but i find that's just a part of the charm. Makes it feel even more sturdy and durable. Personally a light, travel mat isn't always the nicest to practice on daily at home, i prefer something thicker, and Cork Leaf is just that. I was expecting it to be more delicate than it is, susceptible to scratches Only downsides i've come across is that you have to be a little more concious of not staining it, it easily soaks up oils. Soap and water helps to spot clean but in my experience hasn't completely removed the marks. Being a light brown colour, darker marks are fairly visible, as it would be with a lot of other coloured mats too. It certainly doesnt scratch or crack like i thought it would, proving to be a lot less delicate than expected. In all honesty, although the mat feels perfect and supporting under my feet, i find it hard on the rest of my bones. DISCLAIMER: i do have Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia - thus very sore muscles and joints and dysfuncational pain receptors. I'm almost certain this wouldn't be the case if i didn't have this condition. I did a lot of research leading up to deciding which mat/brand to invest in. At the time Cork Leaf was a relatively new Australian brand with not too many reviews, more importantly, no long term reviews. This is what was holding me back the most because i wanted to invest in a mat that will last the distance and make all the energy, materials, effort and overall environmental footprint, worth it. So far, it has, and im extremely confident it will continue to do so for a long time. If you are in Australia, i highly recommend you support this local small company doing great things and help them to continue that greatness and improve their impact on the environment.
