Real Yacht Charter - Be cautious before you book with Real Yacht Charter

We wish that we had done a more thorough reading of reviews before contracting with Real Yacht Charter. We contracted for a boat for our multi-generational family (including two seniors and two children) and therefore had prioritized safety, a comfortable experience as well as onboard activities such as stand-up paddle boards, a sea scooter, and a floating mat. Our plan was a five-hour charter to include lunch and a stop in a cove to swim, and our original price included fuel and the aforementioned water toys. We were contacted about a week before our charter (when we were already in travel in Europe) and told that the boat we had contracted was not available any longer, and we were offered either a smaller boat (unsuitable for our needs) or a larger boat (at significant additional cost and now NOT including the fuel). We took the larger option and paid the additional funds on the spot. We were quite disappointed with the experience - this was the fourth yacht we had chartered during our August trip, and the experience was far and away below any other charter we have had both this year as well as in the past. First of all, clear directions were not provided to the meet-up point. The captain could not locate us as we wandered around the pier in the scorching sun for 45 minutes. Secondly, the boat was not outfitted with any of the contracted "toys" at all. Third, we did not receive a safety briefing - and notably, during a rough current, while I was in the water my husband asked for a safety line to be thrown out to me, and the captain laughed at him. Thankfully I could swim back to the boat; however, that could have been a devastating situation, and it's completely unacceptable that one was not available. We were taken for lunch, but thereafter, when we asked to go to a second location for swimming, we were told no. Finally, we've chartered boats all over the Caribbean, US, and Europe, and even when full catering is not offered, we always have at a minimum fresh bottled water (and usually some snacks and sodas). To take a boat out with senior citizens in 90+ degrees weather without any provisions at all - not even bottled water - for a 2000+ euro price tag is really odd and indicative of a company that's not meant to be doing business in a luxury market. Exercise caution before dealing with this company. You can see from several of the below reviews that we were not the only ones to have experienced some issues.
