Gallaway Manor, Dorandia - Very Disappointed, they rob tenants

I was staying at this place but I regret it deeply. I stayed at the place for 2 years and wanted to move out because I bought a house. I asked the landlord the procedure and he needed a month notice. I wrote the letter of notice and submitted it on time. I arranged with the landlord for people who were interested to view the place, I would cancel the appointments on my diary so that people will view the place. When the time came for me to move out, I did and on time. I checked the unit with the landlord when I moved out, and there were no damages i.e. the unit is still in good condition but just needed cleaning. I moved out in 31 March 2018 and visited my friends at Gallaway Manor the following weekend, I was happy that the unit I stayed in was already occupied. I did not get my deposit (R6000), they (Bianca) told me that I breached their contract, I should have moved out month end of April 2018. To my surprise, they entered into a contract with another client so that they will refuse to give my deposit back. On the 29/10/2018 I receive a letter of demand saying I owe them R2100 for the damages of the unit I was staying in. I am so deeply disappointed at their service. However, I want the tenants that are currently staying there to know the truth about them, they are NOT fair to their clients. My questions were 1) Why did they request a month notice? 2) I moved out in 31 March 2018, why the letter of demand now (29 October 2018)? 3) What if I got a job and I am moving, a month notice would not have gotten me my deposit so that I will secure a place where I would have headed? I am so deeply hurt and disappointed because in all the places I stayed at a month notice would get me back my deposit. Rather use other apartments where they understand human beings and that not all of us may afford houses as yet, hence we rent.
