Victory Outreach Auckland - Victory Outreach Church and Men's Home

Nice people as far as the congregation is concerned but cultish in nature. Works based doctrine and biblical understanding superficial at best. They have a men's home based in Clendon Manurewa which is stuck in the dark ages, they say it is faith based but it's just a front, it's purpose is to recruit men into the VO organisation to build their numbers. It is not recovery based what so ever. If you need assistance with substance abuse you need to contact the alcohol and drug helpline and find a regular NZ service, stay away from these people. Google Victory Outreach abuse and you will find numerous reports from around the globe about ex VO members who have been intimidated and controlled with misappropriation of funds a common occurrence. The men's homes are punishment based in nature are centered on behaviour modification rather than educating and empowering the residents. There are good churches and addiction services in Auckland, these people are not one of them.

A complaint has been filed with the Health and Disabilty Comminssioner concerning the Victory Outreach Mens Home in Auckland. Residents are forced to work to earn money for the church and treated with disrespect and without dignity. No television or music that is not Victory Outreach, no contact with family for a year, punitive and controlling. They advertise themselves as a AOD recovery service but they have another agenda, there is no "program" just conditioning men to be apart of the Victory Outreach Church movement, please beware.
